Communication is vital to the success of any organisation, although it’s not always easy. Inboxes are bursting, messaging platforms are busier than ever and staff are often juggling notifications from several devices at once. When organisations work across multiple locations it becomes even more challenging to keep everyone in the loop, increasing the risk of critical and time sensitive updates not getting the attention they need.
XMA, a market-leading IT solutions and services provider, faced these challenges across their distributed team. With three primary offices and dozens of distinct divisions spread across them, it had become time-consuming to manually distribute tailored messages. They needed a solution that was easy to manage and integrated easily into their existing ways of working.
Robust signage with Acer Chromebox Mini
XMA turned to digital signage to make company-wide communication clear, visible and efficient by showing important messages on screens around offices. Nick Cox, Google Business Manager at XMA, has worked with clients to implement Chrome OS for many years. So, when the topic of digital signage in the XMA office came up, he knew it’d be a great fit. “Chrome OS is a great choice for digital signage because you can run it in kiosk mode when it’s managed in an enterprise environment via the Google Admin Console,” he explained.
When it came to hardware, the Acer Chromebox Mini was an obvious choice. It’s compact, fanless, robust and easy to deploy as it comes with a mounting kit for installing it on the back of screens.
Cloud-based communication with TrilbyTV
The final piece was TrilbyTV, a platform XMA were familiar with from their work with clients. With a simple user interface and features designed to work seamlessly across multiple sites, TrilbyTV makes it easy to deliver the right content, to the right people, at the right time.
Ben Webber, Internal Comms at XMA, saves a significant amount of time since the move to digital signage. TrilbyTV makes it easy to see which players are online and offline, group them by office location, and drill down to areas within that location such as the canteen or admin office. Ben can then customise the content based on location and time and even use the Announcements feature to share whole office announcements at the click of a button.
Ben says, “It’s an amazing thing because what would have taken me a day’s worth of work, I can now do in about 15 minutes.”

Summing up XMA’s experience with Acer Chromeboxes and TrilbyTV, Ben shared, “We can disseminate the information we want effectively and efficiently. It’s just been a dream, the software just works and it’s been so easy to set up the Acer Chromeboxes, it’s literally just plug and play.”
Finding the right tools can be truly transformative for your organisation’s communications. Instead of missing key messages in busy inboxes, staff get the information they need from screens positioned in places where they already spend time. Better still, it’s easy for Comms teams to share important updates in just a few clicks. We’re proud to work with forward-thinking businesses like XMA and we love to hear positive stories from them as well as their clients.
