As many of you know, we went to visit Bristol Grammar School back in November last year. Amongst the grand surroundings of both the original buildings and modern extensions was a fantastic example of how digital signage creates maximum impact, while championing student voice.
#UnderTheHat
After chatting to Director of ICT, Matt Nice, we just had to have an Under the Hat session to dig a little deeper into his views on digital signage and why he feels that it’s so important.
What is your role in your current setting?
Director of ICT.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Working with young people.
Why is sharing and showcasing digital content important to you?
For us it’s primarily a marketing tool, selling the school.
Why TrilbyTV?
I’d heard lots of good things from other people and we didn’t really get on with our previous system. We gave it a go and people loved it!

When we set up a TrilbyTV screen in reception and my colleagues saw it for the first time and thought WOW, that’s great!
What’s your future plans for growing your school’s digital signage?
We need to get a lot of our remote screens controlled by teachers in those buildings.
What idea or resource are you leaving in the hat?
You don’t see the benefit of full screen content until you’ve tried it.
So there you have it, another under the hat session. To see our full visit click here. It’s great to see a school using full screen content so efficiently!
