There’s plenty of technology in schools today. When you think about your tools, there are likely to be some that are used well and making an impact while others sit gathering digital dust. Of course, the quality of the tech matters: you need systems that are easy to use and deliver what they promise. It’s also important that they’re implemented well and adopted properly so that you get the most from your investment.
A tried and tested way to make your technology work for you is to check that the organisation you’re buying from offers comprehensive onboarding and ongoing support. When you know you’re set up properly and you can get in touch with any further questions, you’re in with a great chance of using your tools to their full potential.
The TrilbyTV Relationships Team are digital signage experts, highly skilled in working with schools and trusts to set up, manage and optimise their screens. We caught up with them to find out what customers can expect when they join the TrilbyTV Community.
Tell us about your experience working with schools and trusts
Terri: I’ve worked directly with educational institutions since 2016. Including schools, trusts, and universities.
Tom: I started working in EdTech back in 2008. Since then, I’ve worked with thousands of schools.
Why is education-focused support important?
Tom: From morning breaks to lunchtime, extra curricular to open days, there are unique elements of daily and annual life that only hold true to education. Understanding the way you work, your schemes of work, your goals and mission, means we can provide engaging ideas to make your signage go above and beyond like you do.

How do you set new TrilbyTV customers up for success?
Terri: Getting started with new software can feel daunting, but we like to keep things simple at TrilbyTV. We personally welcome new users, share everything they need, and guide them through uploading, sharing, and scheduling content.
Our onboarding builds confidence fast, especially for those new to digital signage, and gives users a chance to pick up tips and tricks from our expert team. Most customers quickly see just how easy, and exciting, managing signage with TrilbyTV can be.
How do you support customers in their first year with TrilbyTV?
Terri: For those on our Standard or Enhanced Support, in our first call we’ll discuss how you’re currently using signage and what your objectives are. We’ll review these in future check in’s and make recommendations to help you elevate your signage and share messages to your community.
As for key milestones, getting your players connected and your first piece of content live is the most important and exciting. It’s a wow moment for your audience. However, the biggest milestone is seeing the impact it has on your community, whether that’s an uptake in CPD, club sign ups or attendance, or simply seeing engagement with your content. We love hearing about seeing students stop in the hall to take part in the World Flag Quiz, watch their birthdays appear, or to see who’s in the lead on the House points!

Can you think of a recent magic moment with a new customer?
Terri: A customer recently shared a moment where they saw students running to their displays to take part in our Mr Bee Teach content and shouting out the answers. They’d used schedules to show these at set times so the students knew when to watch out for them!
What does ongoing support look like?
Jack: Ongoing support at TrilbyTV means your support doesn’t stop once your team has received training; We’re just at the end of a call, email or live chat to answer your questions or run through any ideas. It means knowing that your issues are being addressed and that our fantastic team is investigating any snags, so things get fixed and you get back up and running as quickly as possible.
TrilbyTV is also an ever evolving product, with new Content Catalogue and Smart Content items being added throughout the year, as well as new features being built. Our team is here to answer questions or jump on a call to show you the latest updates.

What should schools and trusts think about when they’re choosing a support package?
Terri: When it comes to choosing a support package, the real question is how much peace of mind and value you want to see from your signage investment. Support packages ensure that your staff have the best start, from training with our experts, check-ins to keep you on track with your objectives and recommendations on where to go next, designed just for you.
What are some ways that you help customers on a day-to-day basis?
Jack: Our support team is on hand to answer your questions. When it comes to reaching out, we have lots of ways that our users can get in touch; Live chats are great for when you need a speedy reply, emails and phone are also available if that’s your preference.
For those who enjoy figuring things out alone, our Knowledge Base has a host of articles that will walk you through the platform. If you need something more visual, our Video Walkthrough Guides might be what you’re looking for. If you enjoy a more collaborative approach, why not join our monthly Community Drop-In sessions where you can chat to our team as well as other TrilbyTV users who might be facing the same challenges as you.

What’s your top signage tip for schools and trusts?
Terri: Timing is everything. When adding and scheduling content, think about how long people will be in the space, how long your content is on screen and if there’s enough time to read what’s being shared.
Jack: Keep players up to date and try to set a regular routine for adding new content, whether that’s weekly, monthly or termly. Reach out to our team when you’re not sure what to display; we’re always happy to help you come up with ideas that’ll make your signage shine.
Tom: Get feedback. Whether a student group or PTA, if you’re reaching out to specific members of the community ask them about the engagement and effectiveness. What do they want next?
It was great talking to Terri, Tom and Jack about the comprehensive onboarding, training and support options on offer. Whatever your goals are, however your setup looks, and no matter how much digital signage knowledge you have, you’ll find an option that works for your setting. If you’re a TrilbyTV customer and you’d like to find out what’s available to you or arrange training, you can get in touch with the team.
