Our Content Catalogue has been updated with even more fantastic resources! We’ve teamed up with Tes who have created content that is available to inspire children and young people everywhere to SPEAK, SHOUT, SHARE and open up about safeguarding issues, just in time for Safeguarding Awareness Week between 22nd and 28th May. An annual event, in which we can all come together to explore what we can do to make students feel safe and make them aware of what to do when they don’t.
The importance of safeguarding
Knowing who students can talk to in school or how to broach the subject is essential in achieving a successful safeguarding strategy, whether this be a trusted adult or designated Safeguarding Officer. Being able to know how to approach the situation is the next step, by displaying the relevant information on the digital signage around your school can let students know that there is always someone that they can talk to and that your school can offer additional support. This is also relevant for the staff and visitors, by seeing this content displayed can start the process of them wanting to find out more. Tes will be sharing resources, lesson plans and training courses during Safeguarding Awareness Week to help keep schools and everybody safe.
Encouraging children and young people to speak out
The content is made with the purpose to help students understand what it means to feel safe and how to respond to certain situations that may be challenging. Working together to spread awareness and making students feel protected will always be an important part of the resources we have with our Content Catalogue partners.
