When you open TrilbyTV and everything just… works? There’s a team quietly making that happen. They’re the ones turning ideas into innovative features, smoothing out the bumps, and making sure the platform keeps evolving in all the right ways.
Say hello to our Product Team – the thinkers, designers and problem-solvers who spend their days sketching, coding, refining and reimagining what TrilbyTV can be.
The team’s made up of Dom, our Head of Product, alongside Gavin, our Development Lead, and Charlie, our Design Lead. They’re joined by Jamie and Victor, our Front-end Developers, as well as Shemek, who looks after our iOS, tvOS, and macOS applications and Ravi, our Cloud Engineer.
Hey team!Okay, so let’s have a few descriptions of what a day can look like for you.
Okay, so let’s have a few descriptions of what a day can look like for you.
Dom: As Head of Product I oversee the software development and infrastructure of TrilbyTV, helping to guide the product in the right direction. On any given day I could be reviewing product updates, managing partnerships and platform integrations, helping with support queries, organising data, or developing features for our internal management tools.
Charlie: As the Design Lead, it’s my job to make sure TrilbyTV is an intuitive and delightful platform for our users. Most of my days are spent inside Figma, where I map out the user flows and interfaces for either brand new features coming to TrilbyTV or on improving existing features.
Ravi: In my role as a Cloud Engineer, I focus on ensuring that our infrastructure, applications, and delivery pipelines run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. No two days are exactly the same, but the mix of problem-solving, automation, and collaboration keeps the role both challenging and rewarding.
And what would you say is the best thing about working for TrilbyTV?
Victor: The people! Since I’ve joined, everyone has been incredibly nice and welcoming. Recently we had an in-person team meet-up – it was really fun to see everyone together in the same room. Having previously worked at a much larger company, it’s refreshing to be able to know everyone personally and also to clearly see the impact of the work each person does.
Shemek: I like the ownership of the product you are working on. Working from home is also a huge plus, and the people working here are very helpful and nice too!

Personally or professionally – what’s made you the most proud this year?
Charlie: I launched a record label this year to promote the music and artists that I’ve been a fan and supporter of for half my life. It’s been received really well and there’s a little community growing around the concept already.
Jamie: I’m super proud of the latest feature that I’m working on for TrilbyTV. It’s the most complicated piece of code I’ve built yet – however, I’m not sure I’m allowed to say what it is yet…
(Talk about suspense, Jamie!)
Gavin: Mine’s about work too – I made some improvements to TrilbyTV’s services that saw major improvements in database performance.
Okay so, spare time… what do you enjoy doing?
Gavin: Well, you don’t get a lot of spare time with young children! But when I do, I really enjoy painting wargaming miniatures.
Ravi: In my spare time, I really enjoy spending time with my family, especially with my little one. I also love exploring new places!
Shemek: I enjoy going for long walks in the evening, but also I like gaming. My favourite genre is city building games or strategies.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Dom: I guess telekinesis would be the most useful – being able to move things just by thinking. Would make doing the dishes much easier.
Victor: The ability to fast-forward time. I can be a bit impatient sometimes, so I would love the ability to skip ahead in those moments where you’re mindlessly waiting for something!
Best film of all time… in your opinion, of course.
Shemek: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Ravi: The Pursuit of Happyness
Jamie: There’s too many to choose from!
Do you have any hidden talents?
Dom: Nope. And they wouldn’t be hidden if I told you.
Jamie: I can play the guitar upside down – a handy party trick when you’re a lefty!
Victor: I’m also a pretty good baker!
Right – I think we know who’s bringing the treats to our next team day…

Last, but most certainly not least, cats or dogs?
Ravi: Dogs, any given day!
Shemek: Dogs
Charlie: I don’t have any pets, but I’m 100% team dog!
Dom: Cats
