Hamilton College is an independent school located in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Educating pupils between the ages of two to eighteen, it’s quite unique, being a complete all-through school, all in one building. Digital signage driving student admissions
As TrilbyTV’s system is so easy to use it can be used by anyone, even the least tech savvy. The structure and framework as to ‘who does what’ varies from school to school but in Hamilton’s case, the task fell to the Marketing and Business Development Manager, Barry McGinness. With the primary task of increasing student admissions to the school, Barry uses a mixture of both social media and advertising but when it comes to sending the right impressions, digital signage has played a key role with this,
“We have a lot of people who visit our reception area and TrilbyTV has been great. It allows prospective parents to see all of the exciting things that go on beyond the reception area. We show videos and what’s happening in school to create that buzz. As a school, we rely a lot on word of mouth, it’s really important for our marketing. We’ve had cases before when a supplier has seen something, told a friend or family member and we’ve had a subsequent parent and student tour from it. So the digital signage is definitely helpful.”
Barry has also found TrilbyTV’s Announcements very useful, the feature allows you to get a message out quickly on all signage screens. So when there’s a last minute change to assembly time, you can broadcast your critical/important message around your school in a couple of taps,
“The Announce feature allows us to put up announcements within seconds. This can be vital from a marketing and communications perspective especially if an important outside event happens or even something internally.”

Saving time with social media feeds
With social media being such a fantastic marketing tool used by many schools, the ability to use TrilbyTV’s social media features has also been a huge hit for Hamilton’s marketing department,
“We’re quite good with videos on social media, so our engagement levels are really high. Having the feeds automatically show up on the screen is great so the kids can see themselves. We take a picture of them one minute, the next minute that’s on the big screen via a post, which is fantastic.”
Hamilton’s digital signage screens are situated throughout the building but one area where it is the centerpiece, is the school Cafe,
“It’s just as nice to see downstairs when the students are having lunch, everyone watches the screens and the engagement is really good!”
