One of our intentions when we developed TrilbyTV was to encourage schools to create more engaging and exciting content on the digital screens they have around the school. From the screen in reception where parents, visitors and some students will see it; through to the screen in the corridors which students walk under several times per day; and to the screens in every classroom and in every students pockets via their mobile device.
Over the last six years I’ve been extremely busy delivering iPad focused training in schools up and down the UK and beyond. During these six years I’ve had a unique insight into how technology is used or not used in schools.
One technology very much not used in schools is digital signage and hence I’m now a Director of the only digital signage platform developed specially for education, TrilbyTV. I would happily say that in around 90% of schools I have worked in, digital signage has either been switched off or playing content that had no relevance to any stakeholder connected with that school.

As part of our sign up process and to help keep your content private, we require users to enter a TrilbyTV code when they first sign up. This often means a teacher has to write it on a whiteboard, or make a document to print out. A few months ago we quietly added Sign Up Posters to our Admin Dashboard allowing you to print out a poster that you can hang in your classrooms to give students the signup code. These posters also included a QR code which could be scanned via any QR code app to open our web-based signup page.Continue reading → QR codes in TrilbyTV 3.3.1

TrilbyTV 3.0 brings a great refresh. We’ve brightened and lightened the TrilbyTV apps to make them feel much more at home on iOS 8 and 9.
We’ve also introduced Playlists, which has been a popular request from our customers. Playlists let you create your own lists of videos, arranged in any order you like. This makes it really easy to have repeating videos, or manage your TrilbyTV Players in a more controlled way. Just tap the user menu and then tap Playlists to start creating!
TrilbyTV and TrilbyTV Player 3.0 are both available on the App Store. Just go the Updates tab and tap Update.
