Berkhampstead School is an independent day school situated in Pittville Circus, Cheltenham. Educating approximately 275 children, they focus on nurturing and offering an inclusive ethos. The school put this at the centre of everything that they do, creating a happy and genuinely caring environment where all can excel. Digital signage can be a great way to communicate a school’s ethos throughout. That’s why they decided to install TrilbyTV.
Little time to monitor or manage
We caught up with Head of Computing, Dan Banks, who has been key to getting TrilbyTV rolled out across the three sites,
“The screens were initially all off”, Dan told us. “The system in place was too much to manage but now we have TrilbyTV it takes very little time for me to monitor or manage. Since installing, it’s been really easy, taking no time to update at all, even making the slides is just a simple drag and drop. Being able to add social media accounts is great too. Cheltenham has many different festivals and events, we add their social media feeds to the screens to keep them fresh and up to date. The children really enjoy watching the screens, sometimes you will find them in the corridors staring at the content on the screens for a long time which is fantastic to see. It has also been great for when we have visiting parents as well, they can see in the foyer what school clubs are on and what the children have been up to.”
Dan now has other members updating the content. Teaching Assistant, Rose Baker has been a key player in this and has been delighted by the reaction,
“The excitement when they see their name on the Birthday boards has been lovely, their faces light up. It is so good to see!”
A great way of communicating
Director of Teaching and Learning, Jacqui Holland has also really embraced TrilbyTV,
“We’re really pleased with it, the children love it. It highlights their work, engages them first thing in the morning. We use it both inside and outside of the classrooms and the parents think it’s tremendous. For me, it’s a good selling point for the school and a great way of communicating.”

Headmaster, Richard Cross has also been exceptionally impressed,
“It works really well, it’s fantastic to see the childrens work come up on the screens, celebrating success and putting things like house points on the screens. We’re already thinking about getting more screens including a big one in the hall.”
Thank you Berkhampstead for letting us see how TrilbyTV has helped build community and reinforce ethos. If you’d like to learn more about how our digital signage platform can help your school, then book a free demo session here.
