WildernTV at Wildern School

Wildern School, Southampton. Winners of Becta Best Whole School (secondary) Award 2007.

Wildern came to Trilby after seeing CoseleyTV. They also had funding from the Innovation Unit and are part of the pilot looking at using ICT in Personalised Learning. They originally planned to create what they called "EduTube" with their own technical resources but found TrilbyTV a much more cost effective solution. And because TrilbyTV also shares audio and image media it introduced a whole new set of possibilities they hadn’t considered. The objective at Wildern is to use technology to support their increasing use of media creation as a way of learning.

Wildern opted to only allow access to pupils and staff who use their VLE which the TrilbyTV system is designed to do. Any staff and students can upload video, music and images, they can choose which categories and topics are covered and then the server makes the media accessible to everyone online. As with the other examples, anyone can rate and comment on media.
