Hall Green are part of a collegiate of five schools and colleges who will be delivering the first of the new Diplomas from September 2008. They had several issues that they wanted to resolve and were looking to use a digital solution if possible. The connection with Trilby was made via the New Technology Institute, part of City of Birmingham University (ex UCE) who were supporting Hall Green in deploying a new suite of creative technology installed as part of their Arts Specialist status.
When delivering the Creative & Media Diploma the school wanted to have a secure place for students to store their work but also wanted to enable outside partners from the Creative Industries to access and evaluate the student’s work. TrilbyTV does just that by way of the "holding space" where anything that is uploaded waits to be accepted for publication. The system has a feedback and notification feature built in so Hall Green will have a readymade industry linking system. Future developments are likely to be around improving and extending this feature.
The collegiate recently bid for funding to support the Diploma roll-out and were awarded sufficient money for them all to buy into TrilbyTV. The other sites are Bishop Challoner, Kings Norton Girls School, Queensbridge and South Birmingham College.
